Porsche’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC)

Porsche Motorsport has been one of the most successful teams in motorsport since the late 1950’s and has been a consistent presence in the Porsche FIA WEC (World Endurance Championship) since it began in 2012. Porsche Motorsports has developed a team of drivers, technicians and engineers who have consistently delivered championship titles and incredible performances throughout the years.

Porsche’s FIA WEC Teams

Porsche has three FIA WEC teams, each of which has its own unique style of racing and success.

• Porsche GT Team: This team focuses on Porsche’s iconic 911 RSR and competes in both the GTE Pro and GTE Am championships. The team has won the WEC GTE Pro championship for three consecutive years from 2016 – 2018.
• Porsche LMP Team: This team competes in the LMP1 (Le Mans Prototype), the top class in endurance racing. The team has taken three drivers’ championships, nine team titles and two manufacturers’ titles since its debut in 2014.
• Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: This team competes in the Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup championship using the Porsche 911 GT3 R. This team has been successful in the Supercup since its inception in 1996, and has won the championship six times since then.

Successful Drivers

Porsche Motorsport has assembled some of the most successful and talented drivers who have gone on to win multiple championships and countless races over the course of the WEC seasons. The likes of Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Brendon Hartley have all won championships with Porsche over the course of their careers. Other drivers who have seen success in the WEC include Jani Lotterer, Neel Jani, Marc Lieb and Mark Webber among others.
